Walk Through Bombay's Stories

An experiential journey into the heart of the city's architectural and cultural soul, curated by Conservation Architect Kruti Garg.

A custom illustrated map of Mumbai's heritage buildings

All Roads Lead to Bombay...

Yet another walk, in another part of the city, on another day begins with awe and admiration and ends with taking home a piece of heritage which the people now are sensitised to and have begun to acknowledge...

"If well designed, then heritage walks can translate into interactions... establish a **Sense of place**... and foster a sense of authentic human attachment and belonging."

Public engagement begins most simply with the idea of bringing out the sentiment for our spaces. Storytelling is an integral part of this, because people make sense of experiences and participate in cultural conversations through the stories we share. The heritage walks at Kala Ghoda have been the forerunner in using this "magnifying lens" to make each walk interactive and experiential.

With a new theme each year, we have woven the content to resonate with the festival, all while keeping the historicity intact. We introduced bus rides, cycle tours, treasure hunts, and interactive workshops to engage with the historic space on multiple levels—making it fun and innovative for everyone, especially for kids.
